Status
Available in Europe for treatment of deep venous thrombosis. Phase III stroke trial reported 1995 (below). Second randomized international trial (FISS-bis) (n=250 placebo, 272 frax qd, 245 frax bid) presented 1998: no benefit in death or Barthel index at either dose; more intracranial hemorrhage at bid dose.
